Loopies wheelz

Post by loopie »

Good Day
A couple-O-pics and some specs on my van as shown here.
'97 GMC Safari AWD...all the options, including leather...3:73's in the pumpkins and includes the G80 locker in the rear.
Stage 1 Transgo shift kit and Vette goodies in the tranny. Deep aluminum pan.
Wheels and Tires...15x8" steel rallyes from an 80's 2wd Chevy truck, approximately 4 - 4 1/4" backspace...3" deep chrome trim rings. Tires are 255/60R15...very minor trimming in the front wheelwells and the slider door opens about 90% of the way (more than adequate for access)

Thx  But that is the last we'll ever see of Her in "street" trim btw.
31's soon :-$

T.Low...I still have that 97 Turbo diesel E-350 in the last pic...I believe you'll know who I'm talkin' about when I say "U-Joint"....SO freakin' tempting, so tempting!
But I'm gonna concentrate on the Astro/Safari platform for now.
My little Brother might buy this E-350 from me actually and go the full 10" on 38's route :supz:

Is your van at the stock height or have you done something with the suspension?

same size tires i have, on 15x8.5 american racing tailgunners, must have a different offset though as my slider opens fine. although i now think i no where the bizzare rub mark inside my slider came from...
99 SLT Safari AWD, G80/GT4 rear, Burgundy, 196,000 and counting (strictly AMSOIL) flowmaster 40series muffler no more cat, K&N Kone Filter, roll pan, 255/60/15 rubbers mounted to 15x8.5 inch American Racing Tailgunner wheels, billet grille, CB Radio, Alpine Deck, Shag carpet, the list goes on....
03 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, LB7 Duramax Diesel, 5 speed Allison Tranny, Crew Cab Long Bed, no muffler or cat, 4 inch turbo back and side piped. not too many other mods yet, also addicted to AMSOIL.

Added another van to the fold. $350 '96 AWD. All the doors/handles need attention...drivers window unoperational and open 3"...power locks not working...starter gear is worn...needed a battery...the suspension is completely shot(very loose and sloppy ride)...It had two slashed tires when I went to pick it up, so I used my Rallyes to get it home (my '97 is shod with winters now)
Runs ok, shifts ok, brakes "stick" initially....has the G80 locker, but gears are only 3:42...good exuse to 4:10 it as this van will be the one going extreme with the mods later this season :supz:
