how many here from the old astro site?

Post by markmitchinnh »

I used to be involved with the other site before it was sold/transferred I am curious as to how many people on here from the old site?
Recently bought a 1989 Astro RS from Florida. Replaced stock engine witha 1997 5.7 vortec with TBI and replaced transmission with rebuilt 700R4 with mild shift kit.
Bought on Monday the 16th of April 2012

me ! I was a member on AS for less than a year before the site started crashing ( IIRC it was all of Smurf Peters Post Whoring and that did the site in LOL ) then I migrated over here to ASV. I am not really much of a poster though. I just check in now and again to see whats up.

I'm from the 'original' Astro/Safari site... and contrary to what AS claims, that site isn't it! :muhaha:

(But I was involved in AS from the beginning up until it went to hell. Then I joined my van friends over here.) :supz:

I think most of the people in the "post your mug" thread are legacy members.

I think I joined up in 2004 or 2005 to the old site. The nick name of Ole Yellar came about in a late night chat rm.No matter how long you have been around a site, plenty of new guys all the time come on and show how much the know or can do.

This is home to me.So many of the people that has been involved in the vans for yrs are here.I am proud to be apart of this forum and I respect the heck out all those that have been here for so long. :prayer:

I was there too, but for not long. I found some people were a little chippy for no reason.
