As the title says... I'm assuming the check valve is in the pump... Do I assume correctly or am I screwed?

I've got the new pump, strainer, filter, and hanger harness ready to be installed... but I don't want to pay my mechanic 2x to do the job if the check valve still fails to operate.

Referencing to this thread... viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6315 Mine is doing the same exact thing. So therefore I'm assuming the above parts will recify my situation.

Your being a 92, you can change just the pump itself. Not sure if the check valve is in the pump or not. I would expect the new pump would prime very quickly to allow the van to start properly.

If the pump is not running that is one thing.

But if you have a VIN Z van, I would expect the fuel pressure to drop to 0 after the van is off for a very short time. This is how TBI normally functions. It does not hold fuel pressure like the VIN W engines do.

Whoops! Missed the CPI in your title. Never mind.

I just did a search and on the automotive forum. They said the check valve in the pump. And that would cause the pump to not build pressure properly for a cold start.Once it running it was fine. But it could not get the 65 lbs for a start.
