I know I made a post a couple days ago asking if Soft 8's will fit, but I just got permission from my wife(isnt that how it always works? lol) to buy the set of wheels I really want for the Astro! Now I just need assurance that they will fit and they will be on the way and tires will be bought next month!

This is all the information the website gives about the wheels:

5x5
Size 20 x 8.5
Offset 14
Hub Bore 94.62

The hub bore shouldnt make a difference since it is bigger, correct?

It should work with a hub ring spacer.

They look good. Post pics...

If the bore doesn't match then your van will be sitting on the studs which I'm pretty sure is a bad thing.

I looked, all those wheels have that hub bore, and I have seen pictures of them on several Astros, but they are all 18" so now all I need to know is if that backspacing/offset and the fact that it is an 8.5" wide wheel will cause any issues.

Timeless your tires always sit on the studs handling the weight of the car. That is why the lugs and holes are tapered to handle the weight and stop the tire from sitting on the actual stud. If you look at the front wheels on a 2wd the centre of the rim doesn't touch the spindle.

Two Kinds of Wheels...

Hub Centric and Lug Centric.

Our Vans are Hub Centric.

My Two Cents, Jim

I found these exact wheels on a 92 Astro on this forum. It's a 92 shorty, here is a thread on it.

I have 18 x 9's with 255-45-18's and have had no problems........I did call American Eagle ,the manufacturer of Boss Motorsports to see if they would fit.....so I would suggest you give them a call before you lay down the greens for the wheels....

Short answer is yes they fit no problem.

Long answer is, 18" Boss 338 wheels did not have the correct hub bore, so I had to run a 1/4" spacer up front to clear dust cap, they obviously clear fine on the rear drums, but I put the 1/4 spacer on there as well so the would match up front using shank lug nuts. Now the 20" wheels are no problem because they had a bigger hub bore and will fit without spacers. I still regret to this day a little bit not going with the staggered 18x9.5 on the rear. But I just keep telling myself it is a daily driver and running staggered wheel setup is not the most economical/practical thing to run.

So if you want the 20" Boss 338's they will fit. I have now had 2 sets, 1 for my Blazer Xtreme, and now a set for the Stro. And they are an awesome wheel, my only complaint is that they did not clear coat the polished lip, so it takes a bit of work keeping them clean. I have winter wheels to help alleviate at least the salty winters. Sorry for the long post.

Thats the information I needed, thank you. I will be buying the wheels this Thursday when I get paid and will post up a teaser soon, but it may be a few months until I buy tires due to having a baby on the way. I may keep my factory wheels as winter wheels since you mentioned the lip.
