Awesome bike!

Man, I'd really like to get back in the saddle. It's been too long since I've had a motorcycle... I learned on my dad's 250 Rebel, and that's what I rode until my dad took it back about a year ago. By that time I had a 66cc motorized bicycle... That thing's sitting out in the garage now with a jacked up head bolt...

Got the specs for that thing?

Are you getting one or just dreaming like me?

I would love to get the BMW 450.

I've got simpler tastes. I've had a Kawasaki KLR 650 on my wish list for more than 10 years! :muhaha:

I like the klr as well that is what I was saving for as" a one bike to do everything" idea when I found a deal on my 750bmw that I couldn't pass up.

Tom I really hate you somedays. :poke: Seriously nice bike man.

:D that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me. I love you too man.

I have friends with both the old model and the late model KLR's I really dig the late model ( '08 and up). But I do too much single track and don't really want to do asphalt at all. I like the plate so I can use the bike as dingy for adVantures. I've seen creampuff '08's all farkled up with side boxes, armor, and the works go for $3700 with low miles and all asphalt miles on them. I'm sure you can find them for $3500 now.

If I was smart, I'd get a KLR and a Gas Gas 300, but then neither one would be good for taking on the back of the van (KLR outweighs my bike by about 100lbs.

The klr is a great bike but it is one fat heavy slug. I like the pre 08 models the new ones just look bloated. I was looking at the klr because it is great on the highway for long distance riding. Plus lots of guys have them on the dual sport forums so you have lots of guys to ride with. However I wouldn't really want to try and get one over a log on a single track trail.

I hope to see more photos of the un-boxing and assembly. That is one nice looking bike!. I had an '04' ec 450, I really liked it.I sold it because I got a really good deal on the first klx 450 to enter Canada. Its a nice bike, But nowhere close to the fit and finish of the gas gas.

Thanks guys.

WW, I have owned my '05 GG 450 for 2 yrs now (bike in sig line) and jumped at the chance to get this 2010 (especially for the ridiculously low price I paid).

A guy on ADVrider asked me to post up assembly pics at the end of a GG Desert 450 thread, so I'll link you to that. Thanks for your interest.

Some bikes come with a throttle block so you don't abuse it during break in. It was a warranty issue if the stop was removed by the owner and not the shop.

Or the bike could have been power limited for insurance purposes in the EU. Insurance goes by HP not engine size in lots of countries. In Switzerland you can't modify the engine at all and the vehicle has to be inspected every year.
