Schrader Valve - Lack of pressure question

Hi, I installed a fuel filter today and had a question regarding the depressurizing of the fuel lines. I located the schrader valve and relieved the pressure, had lots of rags around it and was ready to take on the fuel...only to feel a small amount in the towel in my hand and a faint gasoline oder. Were my expectations off, or is this a sign that somewhere I may have an issue I need to look into? Thanks

You could measure fuel pressure at the same port to test operating fuel pressures to know for sure.

But, at only 81,000 miles, I doubt it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if the van starts fine and the pump isn't making any different noises. The pressure may be bleeding back through the pump when shut off. If you got a pressure gauge kit and hooked it up to the port you can see what it's doing. Not a bad tool to add to the box.

if the van was not running i would think there would be very little pressure in the line....

Thanks Guys, it has been hesitating a bit on starts the past 2 weeks, but I am due for a spark plug/wire change so I figure that will resolve it. I will grab a guage and keep an eye out, but glad to know it is not a big deal.
