Hello All, I am Mark as u might have guessed by my user name. I live in South Lake Tahoe,CA. I have a '01 awd, little bit of lift and a basic camper. If anyone has advice on how to get pics from my phone to the forum I will post pics. I have been building rock crawlers a long time and this is my second astro. Really lookin forward to being a part of this forum, when I talk "Van" with my jeep club they glaze over and have not found a local astro club yet!

Welcome Mark. Just show up sometime and see the look of surprise on their face when they see what your 'Stro can do offroad.
I don't know about rockcrawlers but there's some guys here with kickass offroad vans. Check out some of TLow's photos of his
trips. We look forward to seeing pics of your van. :supz:

Hey Mark welcome to the forum.
Mark C. wrote:. If anyone has advice on how to get pics from my phone to the forum I will post pics.
So the way that i have been doing this is - setup a photo bucket account.
-Download the p.b. app that is free and then you can upload photos to photo bucket direct from the phone.
- their app is new and not without a few quirks but it works.
- once the photos are there tap on the image, once it enlarges you will see a link symbol at the top right. Tap there and select the .img code near the bottom of the list. Which should go ahead and copy the link.
- paste that link with img code into your post just as it is and the image will appear in your post.

Please feel free to ask questions, once it is set up it works rather well.....

Can't wait to see pics.

These things aren't jeeps but they do really well! I have a few friends that are almost converted from there toyotas, jeeps, and land rovers.

Thanks for the welcome,I really enjoy reading what others have come up with here. I have already learned alot! I could really go crazy! I also have a 98 Jeep TJ,newest edition to family,it will be a mostly off road vehicle. The van must get my wife and I and kayaks to good fishin holes! However I have already justified low range more than once! So my basic fish finder may evolve quick! I have taken on both suzuki samurai's and toyota fj40's so the van seems a reasonable chalange. I think I am going to improve the roof rack first.

Great looking rig there mark. What bikes do you have on the back?

What size tires and lift?

Are you using the photobucket app?

The picture cam through just fine.

I have a KHS Velvet, wifey has a Specialized Enduro. I work at a bike shop among other jobs. The van has 215/75x15 Bfg at ko. As far as I found its only tire in stock size that is a load range c,not just p-rated. These tires are an inch bigger than a p rated, but thats mostly tread height. I have airbaggit shackles in rear and flipped upper ball joints and cranked tortions just to 3/4 max. All moog and Rancho shocks in front. Yep I am using the photobucket app, took a while to figure out, more of a wrench than a screen guy.
