What years are 1st generation vans or what year does the 2nd generation start?

up till 94 was gen1 1995 and up is gen 2

Yeah, 95 was the crossover year. Had the interior of a 94 and exterior of the 96+.

Did they go to EFI with the other changes to the 2nd generation?

and was in limbo between an OBDI and OBDII Computer system. 95 has a sorta mutant OBDI.5 system...
If EFI just means electronic fuel injection, then it spans Gen 1 and 2.
Also Gen 1 Gen 2 is the split (1996) where the newer intake manifold bolt pattern starts on the true "Vortec" heads.

Thanks. I should have remembered that 1st gen is EFI. Heck, I drove an 1989 up to 260,000 miles but as the decades speed by, my memory is leaving proportionately. I'm waiting for a mechanic it install a transmission in my $350.00 AWD Safari that I have out here in Colorado. Thanks again!
