Re: CSFI problems?

Good thing about it is the pump will still move fuel. I plan on disconnecting the line again and using it for the last time to empty the tank, it's just over 3/4 full.

Re: CSFI problems?

More info in case anyone else runs into a problem like this. I checked the volume that the pump is putting out today and found that it will supply a quart + of fuel in under 15 seconds, that's supposed to be good right? So then I connect the line again and check pressure, 62 psi or so with the engin...

Re: CSFI problems?

Ok, so the pump does put out enough pressure with the engine not running but with the engine running there must not enough volume then. I ran across this article today online and it mentions that the pump should be able to deliver a quart of fuel in 30 seconds or less, I'll check the volume this wee...

CSFI problems?

Has anyone here ever had a problem on their 96 Astro where the engine will start, run and die off in several seconds after start? A friend called me because his is doing just that. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and with the key on and the engine not running there's about 60 psi. Once you start i...

Re: 96' 383 build

If you are going to run as is, it would be prudent to limit the high rpm blasts to fuel cut on the engine. Those valve springs look like the stock ones that come with the vortec heads and your cam is slightly hotter than stock, add to that the fact that a hydraulic roller valve train is heavy. With ...

Re: 96' 383 build

It was I who brought this up, I'm sorry if I have created turmoil but I thought bringing it to your attention might save you some engine problems. If you look at this cutaway picture, you can see the valve angle in relation to the piston. If you have a low lift cam you may be clearing now but at hig...

Re: 96' 383 build

Hello, new guy here. I was at work today and I had nothing to do so I was surfing the net and ran across this site. This thread interested me because several years ago I did this swap on a friends Astro van. It was similar to what's happening in this thread, I rebuilt a small block for him and insta...
