Re: Drivers Side Dutch Door

I wish I could have gotten it working as it probably would have gotten me more money than what I got when I sold it this week. Sorry to see it go. It was a reliable vehicle.

Re: Drivers Side Dutch Door

After a lot of spraying of pb blaster and trying to get it to unlatch, I finally had my DW how the handle in the open position while I kicked the door from inside. That got it open, however, now I can't get it shut as the latch for the drivers side did not stay stuck in the open position (as I was ...

Re: AC Compressor/Clutch Seized?

I was going to look at this two months back when things warmed up, then I broke my hand in a cycling crash, so I have been out of commission for things like this. I am pretty sure the compressor is seized as unhooking the clutch wire doesn't make any difference to the situation. I am selling the van...

Re: Drivers Side Dutch Door

I still have not gotten this open. I pulled off all the interior trim, so I can see it and get to it, but I can't seem to get the latch to disengage. I have given it a good soak with PB Blaster, at least better than the last time I tried, I will have a look again tomorrow. I really need to get it op...

Re: AC Compressor/Clutch Seized?

A warming trend is supposed to be coming so I won't freeze while working on it. Hopefully I can get it to break free since I don't want to put more money into it.

Re: AC Compressor/Clutch Seized?

Much too cold to be working on it right now in the Great White North. Where exactly would I unplug it? Now I think I should have taken out the compressor and put in a bypass pulley when it started to leak a couple of years back.

AC Compressor/Clutch Seized?

I am selling the van, so it has not been driven a whole lot in recent times. I did have it out a week ago Sunday, and everything ran fine, and I have been starting it occasionally and giving it a brief run, but definitely not the daily driver it has been. This past week had been extremely cold with ...

Re: 2003 vibration while stopped in Drive

I had something similar. It sort of felt like the rpm was down, although having no tach I could not actually say what was going on with the rpm, but it was not so much of a change that I focused on that. It was more the vibrations and that was the transmission mount.

Re: Intermittent starting issues

A follow up on mine, it was a completely toasted battery. I tried boosting and had the same thing happen. I was starting to think it might be the solenoid or starter motor, but decided to pull the batter from the car and try that. The battery didn't have enough juice to start the van, but it did hav...

Re: It stopped running..

I was going to suggest the coil as well. How long since wires, plugs, cap and/or rotor were last replaced?

Re: Intermittent starting issues

I don't have a solution for you, but I have a very similar problem with my '97. I has been sitting for several months and the battery ran down. I charged it, and all I get when I turn the key is hearing the fuel pump power up, the normal chimes and lights, but when turned to the start position there...

Re: Drivers Side Dutch Door

I have the interior trim moved out of the way enough that I can get my hand in and grab the rod. I have pulled on it, but it still doesn't seem to want to release the latch. I am going to try soaking it in PB Blaster inside and out for a while then try again.

Re: Hood Won't Open

So I sprayed under the hood at the latch liberally with PB Blaster. Let it sit. Sprayed again, then tried having my son hold the release inside while I beat the hood into submission. Just when I was about to give up because it is cold and my hands were getting sore, it popped open. I tried boosting ...

Re: Hood Won't Open

I have tried doing it with the help of my wife. Still no luck. I need to get the hood open to get the truck running.
