Re: Tips on Changing Spark Plugs & Wires
Well Thank all of you folk's again. Had to change plug's, wire's, cap, and rotor on Red Menace the 2000  After reading all the tip's in here, the job only took Me 3 hour's. With the right extension's I was able to get all 6 plug's out through the wheel well's. The only time I had to crawl ...

Re: keyless entry?
That site is AWSOME!!
I just stole the fob from My 99 Alero, which has a trashed motor.
Read the instructions for the 2000 Astro, and had it programmed in less than 2 minutes.
Thanks for the link crash
Now My keyless entry is usable again

Re: keyless entry?
Look for RPO code's AUO or AU5
if that's on the build list, your van has keyless entry.
My 2000 has it, but someone lost the key fob somewhere along the way.
Now I have to get a new fob, and find out how to set the code on it.

Re: Front Diff Delete?
The Red Menace is now a completely functioning 2WD van :supz: Took a bit longer than I figured it would, but the operation is a complete success. Still need to finish bleeding down the brake's in the morning, but everything seem's to be functioning properly. And all the bad noise's have gone away. C...

Re: Front Diff Delete?
Well I started tearing it down yesterday, and the Van has found it's name already, Red Menace! It will be the bane of My existance, until I get this job done. Nothing want's to come apart without major coaxing from the breaker bar, or the BFH. So 4-5 hr's was being Real optimistic, probably be 3-5 d...

Re: Front Diff Delete?
Thank's Lifted! I just kind of wanted to verify My thought's with people who share a passion for the Astro. I'm starting the job tommorow morning, and figure it should only take Me 4-5 hr's. Depend's on how many cup's of coffee, and smoke break's I take. Every other person I've discussed this with, ...

Front Diff Delete?
I recently bought a 2K AWD Astro, that has a shot front diff in it. (My 2nd Astro, I also have a 93 EXT Gladiator conversion.) Is it possible to just Delete the front drive part of the system, without creating other problem's? First off I've never had a real need for AWD/4WD and increasing mileage i...

Howdy from Wi.
Hey All New here, stumbled across the site while searching info on My latest aquisition. Just picked up My second Astro, a 2000 AWD with front drive gear problem's, and 195,000 mile's. But for $500 I could'nt let it pass. My first Astro (which I still have!) is a 93 EXT Gladiator conversion with 260...
