Re: Shavin my 97 Astro Cargo Van.

Heres the newest pics of it. Just got it legal yesterday with insurance, plates, registration. Got the roof painted and got a new drivers side fender extension piece. The old one was broke half way down. Also went back to factory mirrors. The smaller ones I made were just too small and driving a car...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Yesterday I installed a new fuel pump and finally got the van running. Today I put a cover over the hole in my floor where its cut out to access the fuel pump. Vacummed it all out and just cleaned it up. Also never really showed in interior pics so here you go. I guess the PO built some wall panels ...

Re: How to change a fuel filter on a 97 Astro w/pics!

OK I got my new fuel pump in today. I went the cheaper route and bought one off ebay for $71.90 shipped. I checked his feedback and didn't have any negative feedback as far as defective parts. I had my dad come over and give me a hand. I didn't take too many pics as its already been covered before i...

Re: How to change a fuel filter on a 97 Astro w/pics!

I had hoped this would fix my problem of the van not starting. You can tell its fuel related though. So now I have a new fuel filter, and I can hear the fuel pump engaging as I have a hole in the floor right about it. So what could be the problem?

Re: E3 Spark Plugs .. anyone try them?

I have them installed in my 96 Honda Accord EX. I would recommend them. I decided to try them after watching the powerblock TV that comes on every sat and sun on spike. They tested all the top spark plugs on the market and E3 came out on top. You could probably find a link to the show on the interne...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

To the guy above. Been there. I even replaced the fuel pump before trying to fill the gas tank. As I just got gas a few days before. Didn't realized how bad I was putting my foot into though. Oh well I'm sure at some point we've all done it. Heres what I was workin on today. Fixin a rust area on the...

Re: Fuel Pump - Fuel Sender Assembly - Replacement Procedure

Great writeup! I still wish between us we could find a way to put an external pump in. I can't imagine it would cost any more than the late model GM fuel pumps, and would have the advantage of being changeable without dropping the tank. Sadly, I don't have the know how to come up with something. We...

How to change a fuel filter on a 97 Astro w/pics!

I couldn't find a write up on this so I just did the old fashion way and figured it out. But I figured if someone wasn't sure it'd sure help them out. First the location. On mine it was on the drivers side underneath the van right past the drivers door. I sprayed the fuel pump fittings yesterday wit...

Re: Shavin my 97 Astro Cargo Van.

Got the grille painted gloss black. I like how it looks. I broke the center chevy logo when I tried to get it out to paint the grille. Also I've decided to add something major to this build. After reading up on another guy doing the same thing I thought it sounded pretty cool. I'm going to add a hig...

Re: Project Ole Yellar

Hey man cool ride. You got me inspired. I'm thinking about doing the hightop cargo van too. The difference is I'm starting with a cargo and going to add the hightop from one at the salvage yard. I called the salvage yard today and they said they had a couple of them on some astros. They said $75.00 ...

Re: Shavin my 97 Astro Cargo Van.

Some updated pics. Its been pretty hot today so I figured it'd be a good day to paint some more. So heres the pics. I'll throw in a few pics of my 96 Honda Accord with a custom wide body kit I installed. I painted it the same way and the same color. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/4633155507_dac...
