2000 Astro Sluggish / No Power and Hard Shifting
I'm in need of some help/suggestions on my van. I have a 2000 Astro RWD. About 205,000 miles on it. A fresh transmission rebuild as of about June or July. Symptoms: Runs ok in idle. Seems a bit rough to me but scan tool shows high 500'ds (580ish) at idle. When trying to accelerate normal or hard. Th...

Passenger side dash handle
I am not quite sure what the part is called, but it is on the passenger side dash and a huge handle that can be held onto by the passenger. This piece broke off a few months back and I am just now getting to replacing it. I am looking to see if anyone else has had to replace this part and if they co...

Front End Help - Lower Control Arm
I am looking at now since I have been so busy with work and not changing the front suspension out (the strut has now broke through the lower control arm), that I get the lovely job of replacing the lower control arm. I seem to be having a hard time figuring out where to really start with this projec...

The van seems to be running fine so far (knock on wood). But thinking if I can get away not buying one then all the better.

Re: weird instrument light issue
Found something interesting. If I rapidly press the dome override button. It turns the Day time running lights off. I am still waiting for enough free time to get to looking into this. But curious if it could be a grounding issue. As I noticed that when I sometimes have the brakes engaged and I have...

Re: Problem with fan speed / heat
so thermostat was replaced and flushed and filled properly. now I have heat. But still a problem with the fan. The fan did start to work again. However I have somewhat a new issue / same issue. The fan only seems to now work on speed 3 or 4 not one 1 (which it never seemed to) or 2. Wondering if the...

Re: weird instrument light issue
The DRL come on. But the dash lights do not. Then at night the regular lights use to come on by them selves as well as the dash lights. Now I have to monkey with the dimmer to the highest setting before the dome light comes on. In order to get the dash lights on. Only after I physically turn the hea...

weird instrument light issue
2000 Astro cargo. Now to make a weird story short. For what ever reason my daytime running lights are not working. Normally I never physically turn the light switch itself on. The little eye thing in the defroster automatically turns them to my light and turns my instrument lights on. My day time li...

Re: Problem with fan speed / heat
I was trying to say that I blew the fuse while trying to test for voltage off the orange wire.
As far as the thermostat. I am just making assumptions as its not getting hot.

Re: Problem with fan speed / heat
so the switch seems to be working. but I blew a fuse now. wild stuff. I tested on the orange wire as it says to the ground that is on the doghouse. But it blew the fuse. And of course all my fuses (not sure WTF they are there) are at home. So I guess its time to button up and drive home. As far as t...

Re: Problem with fan speed / heat
is there a way to test that before hand?
and as far as testing the switch inside the vehicle. I just thought of this. I just got a new stereo put in and maybe somehow they messed something up.

Problem with fan speed / heat
So I'll try to make a long story short. I have never really had any type of heat or AC blowing when set to the first setting on speed. but 2-4 always worked. For some reason now that we are getting cold weather the controls only seem to work when they want to. I can turn it to full blast ...
