Re: Safari '93 shuts off when brakes on gear
If it will shut off just by turning the wheel to lock, could be something as simple as a tuneup, IAC valve, throttle body cleaning...

Fireworks test(spray water and watch for arcing in the dark), check plugs, check wires visually and ohm them with a meter, check for distributor play: see videos here: https://sites.google.com/site/astrosafa ... or-disease

Re: Traveling the AlCan Highway
A stock Astro/Safari will handle it just fine. A good running van with decent tires, and a full sized spare(I wouldn't skimp on this). Always be prepared to take a different route though, I took an extra gas can strapped to the back but never used it, keep your tank full. Bring cash and more than 1 ...

Re: Front and rear LSD’s
Torsen tech. is very cool. I fell in love with the mathematics and the physics involved in the design. I love how the design “senses” traction differences. I love how it’s seemless and has no parts to wear out. By the way I love these things. I really took a gamble on the twin Torsen thing. There w...

Re: 2nd and 3rd row seat (Puzzling question from new member
The middle row will have the latch for the passenger side seat belt. See pictures https://sites.google.com/site/astrosafa ... or/seating
The problem is that if you didn't buy it new, someone could have changed them out/swapped them around.

Most likely where they bend, at the hinge of the door. Have you taken your switch apart and cleaned/lubed it?

With both vehicles being complete, you won't have any problem swapping it over.

Re: change engine
I have been researching a diesel swap for my 2001 Safari. The ultimate would be the new Cummins R2.8 crate engine, the first of a new series of crate engines with everything you need to install it. The "kit" includes electronics and wiring. You can view these engines on youtube. The catch...

Re: Matt's New Toy!
With the way that they handled it, it seems like they were going for a huge money grab, kinda like they want to boost their price to sell or something by saying "look at the money we made last year".
Personally, I would never trust them with anything in the future.
