Re: Bad fuel mileage, occasional rough idle

Van throws no codes ( all I get is 12) and I've tried unplugging MAF and it ran pretty much the same.

Re: Bad fuel mileage, occasional rough idle

The mechanic already told me the injector or spider is bad (or possibly the coil, but he said he's 95 percent sure before testing it that the injector/ spider is bad). Basically, it's getting a new exhaust (since it needs one anyways), then he's gonna start testing the fuel system. It's not leaving ...

Re: Bad fuel mileage, occasional rough idle

Well, took it to my mechanic. my cat is clogged for starters. So I'm getting that done next week (in the meantime, van is parked). Putting a full walker system on it and new 02 sensor (bought it off rock auto....cost me 410 shipped). Mechanics charging me 80 for installation (So total is only 50 buc...

Re: Bad fuel mileage, occasional rough idle

So tonight I drove it around, and the roughness persisted while driving. First noticed it while getting on the highway. Did a WOT pull up the ramp and it felt down on power....like it was stuttering. Hit 65 and it bucked a bit and really didn't seem to want to go any faster. It seemed to bedown on p...

Re: Bad fuel mileage, occasional rough idle

Temp sensor was replaced (threw a code). It really ran bad.when that went out. I'm almost.thinking the IAC is bad. It ran.great for about a week after I replaced it. Then it started acting up again. It's a standard motor.products part. (All that carquest had in stock at the time) I'll have to check ...

Bad fuel mileage, occasional rough idle

My 94 has been giving me fits the past couple months. It gets bad mileage (13 city and below), idles rough with gas smell from exhaust, and likes to stall when putting it in gear when cold. It will very very rarely do it when warm, but when cold (especially when cold outside) it will idle rough and ...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

insurance company looked at my 94 for the accident i was in about a month ago. apparently, its totalled. 2200 in damage for a scrape from the slider to front bumper, dent in the passengers door, and bent front bumper (conversion van, so they have to redo some of the stripes too). now I have to prove...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

red van is at 129k miles. been putting around in it. new rear shocks are in, but it really needs new fronts (bought them but havent had time to install them). got my overhead compartment installed with my 6 channel amp in it, and 0 gauge ran from the battery to the roof.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Realized I haven't been on here in a while. My 95 is RIP. Got messed up pretty bad in December by a guy who fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the center line, and took out my left side bumper to bumper and ripped out my rear axle (I walked away, beat up but alive....the van not so much.) The 00 was ...

Re: Anybody Home?

Honestly, I haven't had any issues with my new van. Freeze plugs, tires, and egr valve aside, it's been solid. The 00 is still chugging along (again hasn't needed a lot of work.) I will be starting a build thread on my 94 when my dad gets the 00 back from the shop (another round of rust repair/ acci...

95 astro- poor idle, intermittent stalling

I have had this problem on and off since I bought my van. When you start it, the idle keeps dropping then going back up to normal. It usually stops after a couple minutes, but sometimes it will do it even when it's warmed up. It occasionally has a miss while idling/ driving. I have not noticed a maj...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Van went in for coolant flush and hoses change and oil change. It no longer surges on startup/ has fuel in exhaust smell. Pulled drivers door panel to replace window motor, and that's as far as I got on that been driving it with the door handle bezel and armrest. Looks totally ghetto. Then again, my...

engine surging at first startup- 94 astro

I've been having a problem the past few days with my 94 astro. Right when I first start it up, the engine surges for 10-30 seconds and I get raw fuel smell out the exhaust. It went in the shop today and the mechanic was not able to reproduce it. He said fuel pressure was constant at 60 lbs. He said ...
