will 95 astro 4.3L Vortec fit in 96 S-10 Blazer?
So I have my 95 Astro with the 4.3 Vortec in it. My friend blew up his 4.3 Vortec in his 96 S-10 blazer. Can I take the motor out of my Astro and it fit in his blazer? will it bolt up to the tranny of his blazer or will that have to come out of my Astro too?
Thanks,
Bill
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Unflip a flip kit!
Hi Am,
so the rear end of your van is stock with 1,000 pounds in it? It doesn't look like it has went down very much. I might have to do this also, I have a huge stereo system going in and I have a flip kit right now. Looks like I'll be changing back to the stock.
keep the updates coming.

seal leaking
Looks like a have a leak in the rear seal of the tranny where the driveshaft is. It's a '95 RWD and for the most part I have had no problems doing work on the van. so is there any tips that might save me some time? I know to mark the driveshaft position so not to get it out of balance. Park with the...

Re: Unflip a flip kit!

Re: Unflip a flip kit!
hello Am,
It looks like a full air ride setup in the back is what you will need. with all that weight even if you went to stock height you'll have a dumpy rear end.

Re: FUll HID conversion kit for 1990 Astro
the lenses I have use the diffuser and with the HID's it makes a flower pattern. I'm thinking of getting differnt lenses without the diffuser to see what it looks like.

Re: FUll HID conversion kit for 1990 Astro
Little brothers. They'll never learn.... [-( I'm surprised at the price. I had been shopping for a set for my Charger, but most of the cheaper kits seem to be causing nothing but trouble for the guys on the Charger Forum. Far as I was concerned after reading about all the issues, if you spent less ...

Performance headers?
Does anyone make performance headers for our Astro/Safari's? I've searched around and didn't come up with anything. I got the standard 4.3 Vortec in my 95 and my stock headers look like crap and need to be replaced.

Re: Dynamat. How much is needed?
the company I work for sells "Silence It", it's like the Dynamat brand with the aluminum face. at the time we had some old stock, so I was in the right place at the right time. I've used all kinds of sound deadener and the stuff I liked the best was made by Cascade. I don't know if they st...

Re: Dynamat. How much is needed?
I've got a 95 Astro and I used 54 boxes of 4 square feet sound deadening stuff, so 216 square feet of stuff. each box had (2) 1'x2' sheets of aluminum backed sound deadening. My roof is double layered and just about every inch is covered. That was a project, let me tell you.

Re: alternator vs ac compressor...
now I see why you want to keep the stock alternator, those SPL alternators are not designed for daily driving. what audio equipment are you going with? I'm using VIBE equipment from the UK. the company I work for is the first to carry the VIBE stuff and I'm excited to see how well this stuff holds u...

Re: alternator vs ac compressor...
I doubt the extra alternator will slow you down, but the weight of the audio system will surely will.
what kind of alternators are you using, the Powermasters? is your van going to be strickly SPL? what are your plans? I'm building my Astro as we speak just to be really loud.

Re: alternator vs ac compressor...
using two alternators in the same place as the compressor would be very, very tight fit if it's even possible. you would have to modify the a/c mount even more, probably cutting it down close to the power steering pulley (I think it's the power steering pulley, the one below the a/c). why don't you u...
