Ok so it has not happened to me yet but 2 of my friends have drove the van and said they came to a stop the radio cut out and made weird sounds then the check engine light came on and it died. But It fired right up and no issues after. The other instance my gf said she was on the freeway and the che...

91 safari rwd does fine in town but not on long drives
So I got a 91 safari from the original owner. Has 151k on it. I've put a new thermostat and fan clutch on it. When driving around town it does ok the temp stays below or right in between the 2nd and 3rd bar. But if I turn my air conditioning on the climbs into the middle of the 3rd bar. Also on long...

Re: Switched steering columns now I don't know what gear I'm
I more then likely didn't see that clip when I was swapping the columns. I'll go look through there tomorrow. I knew it was not one of wires cause it would Make no sense to have the shift indicator run off of an electrical piece. Thank you for the tips hopefully I can get it working again! At least ...

Switched steering columns now I don't know what gear I'm in?
I just did the steering column switch but now my gear reader won't move out of the park position even though I'm in gear. Is there anyway to fix this or should I just start counting to know my current gear?
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Over heating problem please help!!
I've got the 4.3 vin z I think. I only say I think because I have recently learned its not the original engine but it is a 4.3 and it has the transmission out of a 93 Camero. I'll pull the dog house tomorrow but the EGR valve will be on the drivers Side under the dog house right?
Thanks,
Derek

I believe the radiator has fixed my problem. I'm wondering why I keep flashing a code 32 though?

Re: Over heating problem please help!!
Mrjames- before I replace the intake gaskets and thermostat and sender my van didn't have a thermostat in it so it ran cold until I started to climb a hill then it would climb up to the yellow. After all that work it would sit at an idle an over heat but if you started driving it would cool down. So...

Re: Over heating problem please help!!
My
Mechanic says my radiator is fine it has a 50 degree drop across the radiator. What else could it be? New radiator cap maybe? Im still hoping its something simple that I am just over looking but I don't know. It's getting frustrating, all of my money has dissapeared and it still doesn't run...

Re: Over heating problem please help!!
Can get in there to get a good picture unfortunately. So i put the fan shroud on and drove around without my heat on and it slowly slowly started climbing above halfway point. I then killed it and started it back 30 minutes later blasting my heat and the temp never went about half way. Im thinking s...

Re: Over heating problem please help!!
It's not the t-stat for sure. I went and bought a fan shroud today and put it on! It seems to have helped alot! It now stays just under half way and my fan clutch turns on and off instead Of always on because it can now heat up with the air flow directed towards the proper area. My buddy who did the...

And its a new thermostat so it should be opening but I don't know how to tell I its not opening up. I've heard it's bette...
