Leaking Seal/ Steering System

O.K. I need some schooling....... "03 AWD w/ a 4" lift and about 108K miles. All systems are pretty sound except for an annoying leak in my steering system. As far as I can tell it's coming from around a bolted connection directly below the P/S reservoir. Has anyone locked horns with this ...

Re: First Picture Post

Well, if my '03 color is too common how about a base cargo in ubiquitous white? Meet my '04 "Daily Bread"(carpenter by trade). It's got a 2" lift w/ 235/70r16 Kelly ATRs, Monroe coil over shocks in the rear and a Hellwig sway bar. Fully loaded construction complement the handling is d...

Re: New Cooper Discoverer STmaxx all terrains

Tom, Do I remember that you were running a spare set of TreadWright M/T? I notice some similar elements of the two, although the Coopers have some aggressive sidebiters, and most likely a tougher carcass, hence the puncture resistance. Look foreword to your trail running report. Thanks! D.

Re: NP233c Rear Output Shaft Seal

Thanks John!
My AWD is in Phoenix, while I reside on Kauai. Putting the kit together to take along as "luggage" on the next Mainland adventure. I did however crawl under my '04 cargo 2WD (daily driver & work platform), indeed the vent on the boot is at 6:00......... Doh!

NP233c Rear Output Shaft Seal

Hey Gang! I'm putting together a transfer case swap into my '03 AWD. Building as per Dean's directions for a cable shift. When taking out the old seal, I neglected to note the location of the vent hole on the rubber boot. Factory service manual doesn't mention it directly, but a sketch seems to show...

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help

While waiting for me to shoot & post pics check this link. Pretty much just what I was able to salvage locally. Should give a good idea of system layout & works for a Westy Z bed.

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help

Picking up again....... Yes, the 6' length includes the fixed portion at rear of van, and likewise I have plans for a cooktop & cabs, drivers seat aft. My wife wants to be able to start coffee prior to leaving leaving the sack. Domestic politics if you get the drift. Don't see any real challange...

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help

I'm in the process, doing the same thing to my '03 AWD. Just a couple of thoughts......... I spent Saturday afternoon salvaging the bed section from a derilect Westy. Two things about this appproach. To end up w/ a 6' bed the frame sits aprox 8-9" into the sliding door opening in the seating co...

Howzit From Kauai!

Hey Gang! Glad to be part of Team Astro. Imported an '04 Cargo to the islands in Feb. to be my weather proof tool hauler & construction service rig. OLV 2' LIFT & 4 deg. pinion shims for a sweet ride. Looking forward to a new set of 235/70r16s on Esclade rims to finish things off. I could NO...
