Re: Pics needed; 48" x 48" hitch mounted cargo carrier/bike

Recent past , rebuilt front diff. New maf sensor , o2 sensor and cat . Oh and had the intake manifold resealed . Still cheaper than buying something new and I am so in love with this little van . It is the ultimate road trip vehicle .

Re: 2005 PCV Valve & Vacuum Issue

Yes that is exactly what my van was doing . What we have is a solitary vacuum line coming off the left valve cover that goes into a check valve then is split and goes into the firewall on that rubber fitting I mentioned above and another line that goes down to an actuator for the ac I believe . If t...

Re: 2005 PCV Valve & Vacuum Issue

I was having the same symptoms and it turned out the rubber fitting coming out of the firewall for the heater controls that has the two lines coming out of it was leaking between the two vacuum lines . It looked fine but on a whim I put some goop on there and it cured the problem. Good luck vacuum l...

Re: Current consesus on 4" lift with 30" tires?

Not sure what type of body mounts your van has but when I upgraded to polyurethane bushings it made an immediate improvement in the van feeling more connected to the road .

Re: Current consesus on 4" lift with 30" tires?

My last ride before the Astro Van was an Xterra which has similarities to our vans in regards to suspension . Part of the lift the Nissan cumminity recommends included upgraded hd torsion bars . That addition made the truck ride so rough compared to stock . In the pursuit of better handling I think ...

Re: Rancho 7112

I was distracted by the discovery of my leaky water pump when I was installing the shocks so I forgot to take some pictures but as you have said in another post the overall build quality is not on par with Bilsteins but I do like the ride that the Ranchos are providing .

Rancho 7112

So after adding a bit more lift to my van it occurred to me that the stock height Bilsteins needed to be replaced . I tried to order some 5100 series Bils and found out they were on back order until July so I decided to try the Rancho rs 7112 mt . It was a bit of a gamble as far as the damping goes ...

I just intalled it as is , it came assembled . It didn't leak at the block , it was the leaking at backing plate. I just finished re and re on it. The gasket was wet through half way around but I could not see an obvious flaws . Oh well back together now I used a smidgen of aviation form a gasket wi...

New water pump leaking

Replaced the water pump not that long ago and it appears to be leaking at the gasket on the back plate . Has this ever happened to anyone ? What is the point of this design ?
