Re: Time for some new wheeling pics!

I'm still not 100% on either the 2" or 4". I'd like the clearance from the 4", but I'm a bit afraid of it being a bit of a dog with such a jump in tire size. Granted shes no speed demon as it is, so lord knows it might not be a huge deal, but with it as my daily I'm still worried abou...

Re: Time for some new wheeling pics!

 I have tears in my eyes and memories of my moment. GET that lift on will ya!? PS I think I am on my fourth rear steal bumper and second for front. :D The lift is in the summer plans, just need more time away from school and more time at work to pay for it. Paying for rent sucks. #-o

Ooops. 8-[

Found a new playground, broke the last few clips holding that bumper cover on. But it still stays on after getting slapped back on.

Re: Astro AWD Rallycross

My grandfather passed away this morning, so the van will be going north to PA, no racing. Sorry guys, taking care of the family is far more important.

Re: A few snapshots

The BFG TA KO's must give pretty good traction? Did you leave the van in 2nd gear or sometimes did you need 1 st gear for steep hills? Does your 97 AWD have the Tow Haul selector? I have a 2003 AWD with 225-70-16 BFG TA KO's and air shocks in the rear. I may crank the torsion bars a bit more. I gue...

Re: lift options?

Alright someone explain the "torsion keys" to me. Overland has these: Hi-Lift Torsion Keys "These re-indexed keys are custom made exclusively for OLV. They provide maximum lift from your torsion bars. Standard in our 4" kit and now available seperately. Simply replace your OEM ke...

Re: lift options?

Or you could break new ground and go with the 4" lift spindles and some big o'le springs in the back. Looks like theyre only for RWD vans. Looks like a lot of work to get them right too. "*Note: The HD Astro/Safari Lift Spindles are built to handle the stress of big tires. Although a dire...

Re: lift options?

I'm going to hijack this thread so I don't have to start my own. I'm considering a 2-3inch lift for the spring/summer fun. I'd like to keep away from body lifts, what path would you guys recommend for just suspension lift? I know overland has the shackles (I think thats what, 2 inches?) as well as t...

Re: A few snapshots

Where was this? Sugarloaf Mountain or somewhere around it. We went mudding later that night but was too dark to get any decent photos. Pulled up to the local bar and parked next to a shiny and clean f250 with a lift and some big rubber asked the guy why his truck was so clean, he gave me a look and...

A few snapshots

Took these exploring yesterday. A few hills gave us bit of a struggle but she never got stuck once! (Good thing too, we were about an hour away from my closest friend who could actually pull us out!) http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l248/outofthebox_1/Van%20Adventures/VanOffroadingwithjohn058.jpg h...

Re: Astro AWD Rallycross

Well, she'll be legal to run. :supz: Hello, I wanted to ask before I showed up. I wasn't sure who but I figured you were the man to ask. I'm planning on entering a 97 Chevy Astro AWD into the upcoming "Ryan's Revenge - RallyX #1". My question is this, would you guys let it run? It is a lar...

Re: Astro AWD Rallycross

Thats awesome you could tow a race car there, unhook the trailer and line up in the van ! My buddy with his nissan 240 is planning on attending as well. All we need is a trailer to make the impression. :D I'm sorry... I don't want to seem rude but I don't understand the logic. Why can a guy worried...

Astro AWD Rallycross

Hey all, I'm a psudo noob, had posted a bit and lurked a lot on the other board, and have finally made my way over here, and have a few questions to throw at y'all. Originally I had wanted to go with a 4 inch lift, stubby big tires, black out the grill and add a bullbar, a light rack on the top and ...
