Blown Head gasket 03
Hey all. Long time no talk.... Anyhooo Our 03 blew a head gasket sending compression into the cooling system. Tonight astrogurl and I started the tear down. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/e7ats/IMG00475-20120807-2255.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/e7ats/IMG00474-20120807-2249.jpg

Re: rear brakes
I've never relied on the automatic self adjusters on rear breaks. Set them up so there is an ever so slightly drag on the breaks when you spin the drum.
The self adjusters are suppose to adjust when you back up and apply the breaks. Also make sure they are not seized up.

Re: New to board. New to Us 2003 AWD Majestic Converstion
Welcome to the Board. You where right on by looking for an 03-05. We have an 03 AWD and love it. a couple things to watch out for. The rear break brackets may rust and cause the caliper to hang up causing uneven and premature break pad failure. Also change the Transfer case fluid every 30K Miles or ...

Re: 1995 Astro AWD LT in Elizabethtown, PA
Welcome to the forum. From New Oxford PA here. While doing the Tune up, watch the plugs as you take them out. if half look like they are burning normal and the other half look like they are burning rich, you may have a bad fuel regulator or cracked fuel like. Common problem with high mileage 92-95 v...

Re: Just placed an order on an Interceptor.
No. IIRC From 96 on the Transmission temp sensor was standard on these vans. It was part of the OBDII standard that came out. This gauge reads all its data from the ECM (Computer).

Re: Just placed an order on an Interceptor.
Bump for Logan Here is the web site. AeroForce Tech/ Interceptor This gauge has been great. There has been times I've had a random miss fire and the SES Light would start blinking and go out. I can pull the code with a few button pushes and clear it. Currently I have it set to scroll though 4 screen...

Re: Without van for a little bit
Bumping to top for Logan. The van is still on the road and almost as it was before the accident. I'm still shaky about pulling the camper with it because of the bends in the frame/body. This past year we went camping and had 4 bikes on a bike rack. The weight of the bikes on the trailer hitch was ca...

Re: opinions on an 03
I'd strongly suggest using a product more suited to heat effect, lithium is not. a few specifically for the job Kleen Flo Eze Slide http://www.kleenflo.com/en/productpages/331.htm :supz: I like the look of this one. I like Raybestos brakes but I could not find more info on what you posted. Just to ...

Re: opinions on an 03
I know you didn't get the 03 van but these are the pros and cons of these vans. Pos. Plenty of power(4.3X engine). The transfer case is electric and runs in RWD till the rear tires slip then kicks in the fronts. The 4 disc breaks are great. I placed an order for a Aeroforce Interceptor gauge and it ...

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement. HELP
I got it off about 2:30 today. I've been using a chisel and it did move ever so slightly. The Slide hammer didn't help. At 1:00 I started using heat. It slowly started to move. So by 2:30 I had it off. By 3:30 I had the new one on and van back together. Went for a drive to Advanced Auto to replace t...

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement. HELP
yes, the Axle nut was removed and the axle is dislodged from the bearing.
Soaked with PB blaster.
Went and picked up a slide hammer. My hands HURT now.
I'm worried I will have to remove the steering knuckle and do as you said. Beat it out from the back.
Anyone else?

Front wheel bearing replacement. HELP
Hi All. This is on the 03 AWD. I'm getting a rumble from the front plus the ABS is kinking in when it should not. Figure one of the front wheel bearings is going bad. So, I picked up new ones. Started the tear down. Things where going very well till I got the last bolt out. Now the problem. The Bear...
