Re: No power from 12v outlets
Well it was an even easier fix than I had hoped for. I checked the continuity of the wiring behind the glovebox, and between the connector and the fuse box and it was fine. Replaced the fuse, and we are back in business! full voltage on all outlets, light works fine and the fuses don't blow. I must ...

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help
Yeah, not sure how I would separate them, since the both fuse boxes are evenly divided between vehicle operation/accessory circuits and I don't want to actually re-wire individual circuits. I'll probably just leave it alone unless someone has some awesome idea I haven't thought of. Maybe just a manu...

Re: No power from 12v outlets
Thats exactly what came into my head after I posted that, and once again, correct. The #7 fuse is blown, so I got a short somewhere in the outlet wiring/outlets. I guess tomorrow I'll dive back in and try and find the exact location of it. Hopefully I'll get lucky and it will be the connection direc...

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help
True, I'm more worried about what would happen if the solenoid somehow opens when I'm driving down the freeway (fuse blows, wire shorts etc..) and how I can avoid that sort of situation.

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help
I am using a continuous duty solenoid. I used a add-a-circuit fuse to tap into the fuse marked ignition-e (looks like that circuit enables the AC when the car is running) in the underhood fuse box to close/open the circuit. I don't have the solenoid hooked up to either battery yet, but the multi-met...

Re: No power from 12v outlets
Drummernaut; you where right about the connector, plugged it back in and the light came right on. Now I've got a new issue, The lighter has full power, but the two power outlets only have about .5 volts of power. I checked all the wiring I could get at, and it looks in good condition. Any clues to w...

Re: No power from 12v outlets
Hmm, I don't even see any light fixture in my glovebox at all. Where would it normally be located in the box? The previous owner did swap out the stereo, so I'm thinking that he might have botched the connection when he was in there. I'm going in today and I'll let you know what I find. The fuse box...

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help
Hey Timeless, I saw on some old threads about battery set ups that you where re-routing the wire that connects the battery to the under hood fuse block to connect to the auxiliary side of your isolator instead of directly to the battery, giving you radio and interior lights powered off of the auxili...

No power from 12v outlets
So I have been searching the forum for a thread about this and didn't turn anything up, So I'll just ask. I discovered that my front two power outlets and the cigarrette lighter have no juice, the rear outlet works just fine. I checked fuses in the under dash fusebox and tested the outlets with a vo...

Ok, Yeah, I just couldn't see how they connect from the picture. Thanks! I checked out that calculator, which is super useful!! Heres what I plan on running: Koolatron cooler - 4a Laptop Charger - 4a LED Lamp - 4a 300w inverter = 25a (small I know, but I already have it for free, and probably will o...

Re: Camper Van Layout Ideas and Help
Any explanation of how those connectors work? looking at them I'm not quite sure... Also, my battery position has changed and it now sits right behind the front seat. Would you still go with 4 gauge wire, or would 6-8 be acceptable for this shorter distance? I ask because I have a spare set of 6 gau...
