Re: Improve gas mileage

I do a lot of long distance driving (x-country type trips) and I write down every single gas fill-up. This not only keeps your brain focused on what kind of gas mileage you're getting, but if the mileage suddenly drops, you've just gotten your first heads up that something is wrong under the hood. ...

Re: Heater control lamps

The one behind the fan speed knob. I was reading that there are three bulbs. Not sure, but if that is true I may have a couple out. I guess that I will just have to pull the thing apart this weekend and take a look. I am getting really good at pulling the dash apart. :D

Heater control lamps

As some of you may have read, I just finished re-lamping my radio. Now one of the lights has gone out on the heater controls just above the radio. I looked it up on the Rockauto web site and I see that it is not a normal lamp. #-o When I called my local dealer he mentioned that there are a fe...

Re: daytime running lights

Thanks Crash! I plan on pulling the relay and bench testing it. I hope it is the relay, pulling the covers on the B pillar does not look fun. It is hard getting back into working on my own cars again. This board is great!!

Re: daytime running lights

After reading through this thread, it looks wrapped up. So if I may.... I saw the picture of the diode location. It is the "B" pillar.... Drivers side??? I plan on check the relay, but if I have to go for a diode swap, I would like a little more information before I start taking things apa...

Re: Midwest hello

It is my daily driver. It is quickly becoming the family favorite. If there are errands to run, we all pile in the van and off we go. With the wife and 4 kids (18 down to 8 years old) it is very comfortable.

Re: Midwest hello

Well, well.... I guess I am one of the gang now. Called the dealer back and inquired about the van and if he would consider an offer I had. He took it and I picked up the van on Saturday. :muhaha: I will post some pictures tomorrow evening. I will look up the picture posting thread and get the low d...

Re: Midwest hello

I have been in discussion with a few other people and I have dropped my offer to the dealer to $2200. Astro's around here sell quick and 4-5K. :yikes: I am sure I can get more for the Caprice, but I am not sure I want to go through the hassle of scraping it or selling it. I have a lot going on in my...

Re: Midwest hello

Well here is the scoop on the van I am looking at... 2000 Astro LS (looks like not other options other than those that come with the LS package.) 152000 miles, 3 owners, whole life it has been in and around the town it was purchased in. Paint is just starting to bubble just forward of the rear wheel...

Midwest hello

My name it Tedd and I have been looking at a couple of Astro vans. Found this board and it has been very helpful. Thank you.

I should know this evening if I will be an owner of one of the vans as my mechanic has it at his shop now and is giving it a once over.
