Re: pics of progress on my summer project ('91 c1500)
I went to school in Pullman, then lived in Walla Walla for a little bit, and now that I have a real job my wife and I live in Kennewick. I will have to check that forum out to get an idea of what is going on locally, thanks. Now I need to get to work on my van and truck.

Re: pics of progress on my summer project ('91 c1500)
I was looking around the site and found this thread from last summer that I should give you guys a final update on the progress of the truck. I gave the truck back to my brother last fall, and he drove it around in primer for another year. I finally got settled in a new place so I got the truck from...

Yes, the ls series motors use the same 6 bolts, but add a seventh at the top of the bellhousing. This is also the case for the duramax diesel engines.

Re: Transmission removal - no trans jack
I just swapped out the transmission in my van yesterday and I couldn't use a transmission jack because the van is too low. I ended up removing the transmission with some wood blocks and a little 2 ton floor jack. To put the new (junkyard) one back in, I used two ratchet straps, one to lift the tails...

Re: Walla Walla River Mountain Biking
Very cool pics, Matt. It is nice to hear some of the history of the trail. I try to get out and ride that trail whenever I can. I always have wanted to ride up to burnt cabin but always tire out and head back when the trail gets really rutted and narrow. Anyone who is planning on going should defini...

Re: Which accessory brackets should I use?
You didn't mention what vehicle the '93 v-8 came from but if it was a truck it probably had the accessories in the same configuration as the steel '89 brackets. If that is the case I would use the aluminum brackets for a couple of reasons, they are significantly lighter, they are stronger (less brac...

Re: Window Tint suggestions (what is factory %?)
The place that I had my tint done said that the factory tint is around 20% on the back windows. So if you put another layer of say 20% on top of the factory tint, you would end up with about 4%, which is considered limo tint. Hopefully that helps.

I have a few pictures on my car domain page from when I put in my overhead console. It wasn't too hard, just time consuming because the headliner needs to come down to mount the bracket.

Re: pics of progress on my summer project ('91 c1500)
I am pretty sure that they bolt straight in. The astro buckets are about 13" across and a little over 14" deep. The 92-00 bonneville, 88-98/00 fullsize truck/blazer/tahoe/suburban and the last body style caprice all share that same measurement. I had the same thought after sitting in the t...

Re: pics of progress on my summer project ('91 c1500)
Thanks for the comments guys, I am glad to be able to do some cool stuff to my brothers truck while he is gone, it has been a fun learning experience. I have never used a welder before this summer, the same goes for the bodywork. I hope to do more on the van and my truck, when the finances permit it.

Another update, I have been working on the interior, upgraded to bonneville bucket seats and changed most of the interior to black. I got the door handles and antenna holes shaved. I also got the plain chrome bumper on. I am relocating the gas filler door to the inside of the bed next. http://i82.ph...
