Re: Alternator seems to be overcharging

I am going by standing voltage IN the vehicle.
12.7 is standard thru QC with manufacturers
although there has been 13+ sent thru
& landed at retailers.

Re: Battery light/Choke light on

Gary,Here's some pieces from a ancient 1985 GM astro manual I have. Without gage instrumentation the oil pressure switch is two terminal & controls current to the electric choke,It also provides illumination for oil/check engine indicator lamps. With gages a choke heater relay is used to control...

Re: flushing cooling system

IMO I wouldn't be worried.
I have a 93 ext that still has the original intake gaskets with 280 thou K
& it just started to weep a little bit.
Kidhauler (our local nutbar) has a 99 safari with over 250 thou K,No intake gasket leaks.
You should be OK for some time & allot more K's.

Re: Tips and Tricks

Update on ATF/Acetone mix Recently made up a 50/50 mix & I guess this time I had the time to look closely at it while mixing,Acetone does not seem to mix well (if at all) with ATF. Im finding the acetone stays seperate from ATF. I turfed it into a spray bottle & I seem to get the same effect...

Re: Tips and Tricks

of course if the bolt that has'nt spun since 1987 is a bit rusted into the threads, and it busts off inside the hole, it might take a couple minutes extra to get that seized bolt out of the threads? Any suggestions or tips to speed that up so the hanger strap can be re-hanged? Go back deeper into t...
