Hi, Long time since I frequentent these pages so I hope you will be able to help me out. I have a 93 Astro ext, Rear Wheel Drive, With the dreaded Composite rear springs (Fiber glass, carbon fibre or what ever they are made of), Now Ive been told that it is a No No to fit Air Shocks to a van fitted ...

Thanks again, Junk yards with any American vehicle are few and far between over here in the UK, So finding something for an Astro would be like the holy graill [-o< there are some supliers of parts for US vehicle over here so If it breaks then I will get a complete new assemble, But as a mechanical ...

Hi, Hope somebody here can help me out, The bearing on the tensioner pulley has started making a noise, I need to replace the pulley, but I cannot get the bolt thru the cenrte of the pulley to move as it is so tight. OK Thanks for the advice, Seems I was wrong about the Power Steering Fluid and it is available in the UK, Just Ive never had to look for it before. I now have access to the CORRECT tools to both remove and install the PS Pump pulley, and hopefully I will have a replacement pump soon as well. Is this...

thanks lockdoc, I won't ask you how because it sounds very expensive. I had already figured that the pump was shot because of the same reasoning you gave, must say that this system is very rare on european cars and had the auto club guy very confused, he was looking for a servo with vacuum connectio...

would you belive that we don't have power steering fluid over here, most all manufacturers use atf?, thats why I asked, i will have to ask at the local GM europe dealership.

OK Point taken, I will have a look at the shaft first, I take it that it can shear but still appear to be connected otherwise surely the pulley would have come off/out of the pump. Level of oil was OK, before and after this problem, It was suggested a few weeks ago that I change the oil in the system, But I really think that this defect is past changing the oil now, I suspect it is more a mechanical problem
