Re: Clouseau..at your service.
my neighbour backed into my van in the winter, mirror pushed in and fender crushed a bit (door wouldn't open as well). i think i know who it was but looking at her old smashed up discovery she probably didn't know she did it(at least never confessed).

Re: Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires
i got a set for my ram a month ago. $300 to $500 cheaper than anything else (thats taxes/installed). i haven't had them up in the snow yet (fuel pump is acting up, don't trust it) but they should be better than the highway tires that were on it.

order new idlers today and after work started loosening the old ones. 2hrs and a bunch of hammering, prying and pickle forking it ain't budging! might try some heat tomorrow. i hope the drivers side will be easier.

How about those rims? What are they off of? Jim[/quote]
the rims are the originals from my 98 sierra pickup, i figured that wheel balancing issues would vibrate weather on the gas or not

Re: choosing proper pinion shims?
its hard to get pictures right now (it's dark when i leave for work and dark when i get home). i'm sure the shims are in correctly, fat end forward. i haven't done any other modifications to this van. i guess i should locate an angle finder, how far off can the angles be?

Re: choosing proper pinion shims?
i put in the 4 degree shims and moved the shackle bolt down today and its still the same. i might try the other 2 holes on the shackle and if that doesn't help i don't know what i'll do. i think its drive train related because the vib is worst under acceleration, coasting down hill is nice and smooth.

choosing proper pinion shims?
so, i started out with a 2" lift with shackles (on the lowest hole)on my composite springs and had a terrible vibration at highway speeds. last summer i swapped in some steel springs with an add a leaf and moved the shackle bolt to the top hole (least amount of lift) and still get some vibratio...
