Re: Exhaust question

Thanks for the info. Why the torque converter swap? What's the reasoning? Will my 700r4 be okay to back up my mild 350? Rather not spend money where I don't need to right now. Can I use poly motor mounts?

Re: Exhaust question

Yes, I saw your van and thread on another forum. I was considering cutting a coil as well. I have Corvette sawblades 17x8.5 front and rear. Gonna need spacer/adapters. You did not flip the rear axle? Interesting. Currently waiting for it to warm up around here so I can start stripping the front of t...

Re: Exhaust question

Haha, I just read your entire build thread. Very inspiring. I am following your lead. I am considering the Hedmans but am trying to keep costs down. The engine and headers came from my Vette. My budget is $2016. I'm entering the Grassrootsmotorsports.com challenge so I have to watch where I spend mo...

Exhaust question

Putting the engine from my 75 Vette (GM crate 350) into a 92 Safari. Can I use the headers that I had on the Vette? What are the clearance issues? I would like to run them to side pipes actually.

Re: If the van is a rockin (Interesting ABS symptom)

So the sensors came in and they were shaped incorrectly where the harness comes off. So I cut open the old harnesses and repaired them. No more light. System working as designed. That was not fun. Never over look a step in the dx process.

Re: Recommendations for EBCM repair

Rockauto fail. Sensors came but they don't fit. Harness comes out of sensor at 90 degrees. Needs to come out angle up slightly from horizontal. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: If the van is a rockin (Interesting ABS symptom)

Checked continuity of harnesses. Both show ohm reading fluctuations as I move the harnesses up and down. Ordering new sensors.

Re: Recommendations for EBCM repair

So I reinstalled the repaired unit from Atlanta Speedometer. Light came back on. Flickers on and off as the van rocks over uneven surfaces. I can even make it flash by rocking the van really hard from the driver's seat! Gonna check the ground on the chassis. Is it easy to get to? Anyone have an imag...

Re: If the van is a rockin (Interesting ABS symptom)

Yes, bearings were bad. Both front. Replaced both.

Where can I find a diagnostic procedure for the system?

I would like to test the sensors, ground, harness, etc.

If the van is a rockin (Interesting ABS symptom)

So I've been through it all: Wheel Bearings-check(about a year ago, they were bad), clean and check ABS sensors-check, remove and send EBCM out for repair-check. Still getting the damn ABS light. So here's the scenario. Over bumps or when the van rocks side to side the ABS light will illuminate. I c...

Recommendations for EBCM repair

I need to send out the EBCM for repair. Who would your folks recommend? Atlanta Speedometer Services? ABS Fixer? Other?

I am not handy at soldering and figure I could get a short warranty with a rebuild.

Thanks! :guitar:

Re: High idle fix

I was surprised as well. But no problems since. Suppose I should verify cruise is functioning correctly.
