Re: Gallagher Head Lake Trip with Northwest Overland
Nice trip! I'm on the NWoverland forums too, need to make it out to an event sometime. Man the NW is beautiful..I've wandered all over the southwest, and now that I have started exploring the northwest it has just been stunning thus far..Sure wish I could afford to live in the middle of nowhere out ...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket Kenwood.. Nice to have a remote and aux input..Since I bought the van I never liked how far away the radio is mounted from the drivers seat. I'm not an audio guy, but now I want to start upgrading the speakers as well. Should probably start with the two...

btw..I mapped from westport to tokeland..Definitely making that drive down the beach when we are back out there in a couple weeks..Just judging by a quick look of the map, it appears to only be ~5ish miles? Is that close?

Re: Post your advanture photos.
Glad you guys enjoyed them, if I find myself bored, I will dig through some more of pictures sometime.. I do miss the 4 Runner, although I have had over 30 cars, and I am only 28..I tend to not get overly attached to vehicles. I'm trying to remedy my buying, playing, selling disease. I intend to act...

And since this is "post your adventure pictures", not necessarily "post your astro adventures", here's a few from before I had the Astro. Exploring the Cascades http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/chrisbintothewild/IMG_1067.jpg Snowy Day near Payson, AZ http://i1178.photobuc...

Re: Post your advanture photos.
Intothewild (great book!) The brush guard was for a full size Chevy pick up. I had to do quite a lot of fabrication. I don't remember the year, but I think the info is here http://astrosafarivans.org/bb2/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=7567&start=15 Info and install pics for both mine and Crawlers. Bo...

Re: Post your advanture photos.
I apologize if it's been covered somewhere else, but what can you tell me about your brush guard? Brand? Is it for an Astro or did you custom fit it? Not having much luck finding something like that!photo_van wrote:Thanks Dean!

Re: Hatch release from inside/rear of van
That is a good point! However, the hole is cut already so for now that's where it will stay! I don't remove that panel often at all, and it is a two part plug on the rear side, so I can always disconnect it without having to cut wires etc. if need be.

Re: Hatch release from inside/rear of van
Stopped by the local JY earlier, and pulled out a hatch release switch..Had a bit of free time on my lunch break, so I figured out where I wanted to mount it, cut the hole, and got it mounted. Maybe I will have a little extra time during lunch another day this week and will be able to get it wired u...

Hatch release from inside/rear of van
Anybody mounted a switch inside the rear of the van to pop the hatch? I use the van for camping etc, and would like to be able to open the hatch from the inside while hanging out/sleeping in the back. I have keyless entry, I could just keep a keyfob nearby, but where's the fun in that? Anyone have p...

Lots of people around the NW on here..I dig it.
