oppinions on a possible purchase 2001 astro
I have found a 2001 astro AWD cargo 213000 miles and says it has a blown head gasket. UNDER $1000. I was thinking it would be a good buy even if I just put a new long block in it. I would just have to find the money to pick it up and put an engine in it. I think I could be into it less than $2500 if...

Re: Im BACK! and want advice
I have seen the S-10 front diff stuff I was wondering if the LD 2500 front diff stuff would work. I dont know if its too wide or the same size as the s-10 front diff. I do know that s-10 half shafts are shorter than full size rigs but is that the only place the width between a s-10 and a full size d...

Re: bad gas sort of............ok it was wheel cleaner HELP
Its on a 500+/- mile road trip currently. My mom took it to go see her parents and her brother and sisters.
It runs better than ever as it has had its tank cleaned several filter changes a new fuel pump and now a new/used throttle body.

Re: Effects of tire size on AWD?
The tire size really shouldnt affect anything other than the speedo speed and your actual real speed.(I suppose it can affect the engines performance with a differnt sped in relation to RPM, but thats a differnt subject) As far as I know the AWD transfercases sence wheel slip so it shouldnt matter w...

Re: Im BACK! and want advice
I want an AWD astro or safari. From what I read everyone has been using the s-10 axle half in the front to get the part time axle disconnect stuff. Rather than the vans AWD unit.

Re: Im BACK! and want advice
Oh I had a few questions too. I have been reading everything I can on here about the part time x-case swaps and it seams everyone is using s-10 stuff. I have a 94 gmc 2500 6 lug(basically a glorified half ton) out back that is dead. It has a blown engine, new 4l60e with around 3000 miles on it, an N...
