When the van does this it is such a short time I don't think temp has any thing to do with it. It will even do it when the motor is hot. As for the timing, I marked every thing very closly. The van has 95000 miles on it, uses no oil, and when I repaired the intake coolant leak 2000 miles ago the spark plugs I took out looked very good. I did replace the plugs, cap and rotor.
I do not have the equipment to do the compression test, I'm not sure I would want to after replacing the plugs.
