Re: 96 - 02 rear in an 89 van?

sweet, I can deal with that.
I know that later models had a different ABS but the van has had the old, garbage ABS removed anyway.

96 - 02 rear in an 89 van?

Does anybody know any reason why a 96-02 rear WOULDN'T bolt up to an 89 van? I already have the steel leaf springs sine the van was originally a fleet vehicle.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 11" drum backing plate - Mystery Solved

is it possible for somebody to post a pic of the backing plate (preferably with a ruler in the pic to show basic dimensions) so I have some sort of reference to go by when I'm picking around in the junkyards?

Re: '86 5 speed How Rare?

I have an '89 5 speed that I'd like to sell now that I have my '02. It looks just like GEJ's van but all black. I'd be willing to take $1000 for it. It's a little bit of a project but it runs/drives and it's all there plus I'm throwing in A LOT of extra parts with the sale. If you have any interest,...

Van camping forum

I stumbled upon this today. I'm sure ASV.org members can share their knowledge and tricks of sleeping in vans.

Re: 11" drum backing plate - Mystery Solved

anyone know what the best donor would be to do this swap on an '02 AWD? Do the roadmaster parts work on the 96-02 vans or should I stick with Caprice parts? Thanks.

Re: Van style camping in northern MI

I love using the bench seats around the campfire however, I'm getting tired of the latch mechanisms getting clogged with dirt and grass. One of these days I'm going to design a portable base that the seat latches can lock into.

Nice! Thanks.
If that's the case, shouldn't this work on vans up to '04 (before they changed to 6 lug)?

Re: Transfer case swap to a 2 speed - electric shift

If I do this swap on my '02, what do i do with the front and rear drive shaft speed sensors? Do I need to do the 2" body lift kit like the manual transfer case conversion?

Re: Transfer case swap to a 2 speed - manual shift

has anyone tried this swap on a '02 style van? I'd like to do the swap after my 2" lift but I don't want to mess up the trans or ECU electronics by doing so.
