I'm just tackling this job, what size bolt is on there.? I tried 17mm & 19mm, then 11/16 & 3/4.
Nothing fits!?

Re: Front 2" Spacer Problem
Got it! You were right about using the rocker panel instead of the front rad support as the instructions say. Phase one is almost complete. I got the 2" lift installed, a set of Timbrens in the rear (still need to fab some spacers because of the lift), new Rancho shocks all around. This week I'...

Re: Front 2" Spacer Problem
I did start out with all three bolts from just the drivers side removed and the pass. side loosened. When that didn't work is when I pulled both front bolts. As the subframe continued to move with the body I kept working the pass. side bolts loose. I'll try the rocker panel, I used the suggested rad...

Front 2" Spacer Problem
OK, I need some more advice guys. I installed the rear part of the kit (see "shackle bolts" thread for all the gory details) I've been driving around for the last week with "That 70's Van" look, all jacked up in the back. I started the front and can't get enough clearance between...

Re: Rear shackle bolts
Got the other side done the same way as the first. The key for me was to get the pressure on the whole thing with the puller and then hit it with the heat. It smokes/stinks but it comes out! When I fabbed the new sleeves I also had to turn down the rubber bushings to fit the slightly larger bolts/sl...

Re: Rear shackle bolts
What a nightmare! ](*,) Got one side done. Here's what I did. There was no amount of bashing that was going to get it out. Bracing against the tire with a breaker bar I couldn't get it to even turn (I'm 6' 205lbs, not weak) I cut off both ends of the bolt with a plasma cutter/sawzall and took off th...

Re: Rear shackle bolts
Thanks for the clarification on the supplied bolts. They were taped in a group of four then two, so I presumed that the four were for the rear shackle bolts and the two were for the front spacers. I see now that the spacer blocks are spread out amongst the 6 frame to body bolts. I have a 12 ton shop...

Rear shackle bolts
OK, so I got my Overland lift kit for my '95 and older composite spring van. Two things: 1.) Is there some secret for getting the lower shackle bolt out? I got both the upper and lower nuts off, but the lower bolt won't even rotate. I've beat on it extensively, I put a breaker bar on the bolt head a...

Re: Cragar 15x8 4.25" backspacing
Of course, "serious offroading" can be a relative term. I will not be blazing my own trails or rock crawling. Mostly I want to be able to get through back trails to camping spots. I don't mind taking a hammer to things. I actually thought about some sawzall action and adding bolt on fender...

Cragar 15x8 4.25" backspacing
Sorry if my search missed this info. I have just gotten my 2" overland lift kit, new shocks, etc. Looks like I could squeeze another inch out of the kit with some torsion adjustment up front and a axle shim in the back. I'm planning on 30x9.5 AT's. I would like some wider rims for a better fit ...

Maybe my humor is a little obtuse, Your in the northern part of Ohio, you mentioned I might be from the southern, I said the middle part, which is where Columbus is. Thanks for the welcome.

Re: Different big tire idea.
Absolutely getting a snorkel! And yes those are what I mean about fender flares. Turning radius could be somewhat mitigated with increased rim offset. I believe stock is 4.5"? maybe go 5.5"? I was hoping someone had done it. Insofar as it looking like crap, you may be right, but I'm lookin...

Re: Different big tire idea.
I know this is an old post,. but I was thinking the same thing as the OP. If you're going to spend $745 for O.Lands 4" lift and then shocks, steering shaft, etc. Just to get 31x10.5's on there, then why not cut out the fender wells, add Jeep style fender lips I've seen in the catalogs. If you g...
