Re: Spark Plug Wire Boot Question

So, interesting development .....

I installed the Accel wires. They do look cool and fit much better than the Blue Streak wires that I replaced.

The interesting part is that when I pulled the coil wire off of the cap, the pin in the cap came out with the wire.

Running super smooth now!

Spark Plug Wire Boot Question

Hey there, So, I have been fighting misfires forever. I believe that I have figured out that it is my plug wires. With a little help from younger ears that can hear high pitch snapping noises, I found a plug wire that was arching against the exhaust manifold. The question is; WHY! They are only 4.5 ...

Fuel Pressure vs. MPG v. Performance

Hey there, I have a fuel pump question. A couple of years ago I had SPR Performance Mod my TBI, it was suggested that I also up the pressure with a new pump. I also adjusted the regulator to allow for more pressure. That new pump has now failed. As we all know, it's a major pain to replace a fuel pu...

Re: What the heck is this?

Do all first gens have the composite/fiberglass leaf spring? Do they all have these "vibration pucks"?

Re: What the heck is this?

They don't touch anything, they are just hanging out there. I was thinking that they might be a counter weight or damper to minimize spring wobble.

What the heck is this?

I've got four of these "holes". One in front and one behind the rear axle on both the right and left leaf spring. I have the composite/fiberglass leafs.

This was in one of the holes. The other three are missing. Do I need them? What are they called and where do I get them?

Re: Battery Relocation

Thanks MMJ, I was looking at the 95rplt from O'Reilly. It's a starting and deep cycle AGM battery with 105ah. Renogy makes a 30a thingy that sounds like what you are talking about. https://www.renogy.com/dcc30s-12v-30a-dual-input-dc-dc-on-board-battery-charger-with-mppt/ The thing that I keep worryi...

Battery Relocation

Hey there, I'm starting to convert my daily driver into a stealth camper. The first thing that I want to do is wiring stuff. I want to install a huge 950cca battery in the rear, under the floor, next to the spare tire. My question is ....... can I just connect the OEM cables to the new 1/0 ga wires ...

Re: 1986 GMC 1987 Chevy No High Speed Fan Blower Motor

I have attached two pics.

They are showing the firewall behind the battery, you can see the parking brake cable in the background.

I am pointing out the nut that I tightened and the "fusible links" that I need to test and/or replace. Do the come apart? Do I just cut and splice?

Thanks

Re: 1986 GMC 1987 Chevy No High Speed Fan Blower Motor

I spoke too soon.

It worked for a day and a half, then today it did it again, no high speed, ugh!

So, where is this high current fuse? Are those fuse-able links reparable?

I need to recheck continuity on the relay and will get back to you.
