Rear Brake line blew out last night, van stranded

I was driving home last night and lost 80% of my braking power suddeny!!!! :( Pulled over in to a parking lot and looked under the van and see brake fluid dripping down by the gas tank. Clearly the brake line from front to back has broken somehow. it was close to dark so I was not really able to go ...

Re: Radiator replacement

The good news is I had the oil cooler removed a couple years ago.

I am going to order the following:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C8 ... D6BLNEXBCV

Found a couple reviews on it, the price is right.

Re: Front rotor replacement

OK, I musta been sleeping when I ordered them.

The rotors I had were for an AWD model, and I have RWD.

Took them back to advanced and swapped them for correct ones, popped right on.

AWD has no gear and no lug bolts etc. RWD rotors have all that

Front rotor replacement

I am having a bit of trouble replacing the front rotors. 1997 Safari I have the rotors off, and new ones in hand, but I am struggling to figure out how to get the gear/bearings out of the old and into the new. The bearings came out of the rotor fine, but there seem to be other parts in there, and a ...

My 97 has both, factory.

I think they started putting them on when you could get the dutch doors.

Re: Left turn from stop, transmission seems to lag between g

MIne has been doing that for 25k miles, only a little worse than yours. EVERY time I go from 1st to 2nd, I get a slight lag or hard shift, its worse when I slow to a turn and it downshifts. If it is the same, it is the transmission starrting to slip. I found a fluid change and then a transmission ad...

Re: Replaced rear shoes, but then ....

All is right with the world... I pulled the drum today and realized I had not adjusted the brakes all the way "down". Did that then had my wife push on the pedal to see the action, springs working as expected. Put the drum back on, went on much easier this time, took it for a test drive an...

Re: Dutch door window latches

I had the same thing happen to my Safari. Everyone keeps slamming the window and knocking off the push rods inside. It took a little bit to get it out, again, from the inside, but if you start taking out screws and bolts it becomes pretty obvious. I used very small zip ties to hold the push rods in ...

Re: Replaced rear shoes, but then ....

OK, went out for a longer drive today, about 1 mile to the interstate, 2 miles on then 6 miles off back home. Varying speeds from 25 to 75, mostly 50's. Quite a few stop signs to my house. It did nto feel like the brakes were on and I thought it all seemd ok, pedal was smooth and it seemed to stop n...

Re: Replaced rear shoes, but then ....

Let me answer the questions I can. New springs? yes New Shoes? yes New Drum? No. The existing drum was like new, no lip or anything. In fact, it was probably a waste of time to even do a brake job. the old shoes looked almost new. But since I already had the parts, I went ahead and replaced them. Br...

Replaced rear shoes, but then ....

Replaced the rear shoes, let the car sit for a few days while I worked on other stuff. I went to drive it today and the brakes felt like they were totally locked. Hard to get out of the driveway. Drove around the block and seemed to ease up, but I do feel like I smelled burning. I had to set the adj...
