Re: Radiator Support Swap

Welcome, I really don't understand your question, are you looking to swap noses, same years, same style or swap from first to second generations? You see the 1985 -'94 are first gen, '95 - '02 are considered second and third is 03'- to '05. '95 - '05 are the same body style throughout but some of th...

Re: rough idle

hmmm, of the suggestions, these are the only things I haven't explored: 1. Check vacuum 2. Check electrical grounds at studs 4. Check O2 sensor readings on OBD 2 scanner running real time data 6. Check compression at spark plug holes with WOT How in hell do you do #6? Every time I have done a compr...

Re: Spark Plug Wire Boot Question

Those wires will do fine, maybe a little better than stock. Just watch the routing. That is the reasoning behind the mixed boots. If you pulled the original wires you would see which goes where. Sorry I can't help you on that as I haven't had a 6 cyl astro in a few years.

Re: NEW MEMBER - CAPE COD (local owner help?)

Hey Joe! Good to hear from folk willing to lend a hand. I'm a bit far for the O.P. in this case. In between Hartford and NYC on rte. 84. I'm not a wrench but have a place and tools and would do all I could to help a member. I too have had / have a few vans and a little experience so, GLADTOMEETCHA! ...

Re: I unplug the MAF Sensor, WHAT should the running engine do?

A.P., When is the last time you had your astro to 4500 RPM? You see most of the things like this are unsuited for our uses. Your rig is setup for off road use mostly correct? Which would be better for you if you're out boondocking and have trouble with a dirty air filter? Are you likely to have the ...

Re: Broken Shock Shaft - Causes?

Lol, I know exactly how you feel. I recently swapped my fiber springs in the '93 for steel and put in a Detroit tru-trac w/ 11" drums. In '95 I put a rear in my old '87 g-10 it took me about half the day, somewhere around '06 I did the rear and a franken-pack in my '97 safari in a day and rebui...
