Is there anyone who would be interested in taking over ASV?

Post by justice »

Howdy folks.

I'm at the point where I just do not have the time to properly care for this site any more. Actually it has been like that for a while. But I think this site still has life in it and has something to offer.

So I am wondering if there is anyone who would want to take on being the primary admin/owner of the site?

FWIW, the site is hosted with a great host inmotionhosting.com and cost a little over $100 yearly to run (hosting and domain names)

This site has always been donation supported and although there is still donation money in the account I think I have paid the last two years out of pocket, but that is not really a big deal ATM.

As the new owner of the site you would receive and be responsible for the following items

1. The site itself
2. The three domain names astrosafarivans.com .net and .org
3. The remaining balance of the Astrosafarivans paypal account

You would need to create an account with Inmotion hosting so that the data files (website, forum etc) would be moved from my account
I will assist in the transfer of the domain names that are not tied to the Inmotion hosting account.

The website was built using Dreamweaver, the forum is PHPbb ( and really needs an update ! )

If you are interested, send me a PM here on the board and i'll get in touch with you.

If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks
I have a ban hammer and I ain't fraid to use it!

There's a lot of useful info on this site and good people, and there are still thousands of Astrofaris out there and owners looking for help. It think it's worthwhile to keep the site going a bit longer.

I have the know-how to keep it going, and I'm willing to put some time in, if another courageous soul is willing to look after the bookkeeping.

Thanks Cap'n. Can you please clarify. You'll throw some money or you will make sure there's all the money every year?

I have no experience in web hosting or the duties of an administrator but I do go to work every day and if my pledging $10.00 a month to the site that opened my mind and heart to the joys and wonders of our beloved vans will help then that’s what I shall do
