Hi,

No need to drill access holes in the front cross member if you just use the trailer hitch installer trick of wrapping thin wire on the threads of a hex bolt and pull the bolt through using existing access holes.
On my 2003 AWD I fist installed a 28" length of Uni strut channel, from lowes or Home Depot, get the 7/8" X 1 5/8" channel instead of the 1 5/8" X 1 5/8".

Then bolt and nut the channel to front cross member, and I used 1/4" channel nuts and hex bolts to install front edge of front skid plate.
