Sold it... doing another one. This time my daily driver 93 Safari. Dropping a 94 350 tbi in with the attached 4l60e trans and computer, buying it all for $600 delivered :D

The other van was a 305 with a 700r4... just not enough power for me. :supz:

Gordon,
I have a set of V8 mounts.I'm not sure if I'm going to need them because I bought a V8 Astro which I am going to use as a donor for my swap into a Astro I have already. So I have to see what the donor has for mounts first. That will be in two wks when I finnally get that donor home.I'll let you know then if the mounts I have will be used or not.BTW-I asked the question why you needed mounts because I lost track of you selling the one you said you got running.I am sorry if that created any mis-understanding.

Thanks,

Gary

lol changed my mind again. Gonna leave the 93 family hauler alone at the wifes request.

Found a 91 astro with a blown head gasket for $150, rebuilt 700r4 trans, red, no rust, etc.... now the good stuff

I'm gonna keep my truck and use it's engine (85 350 rebuilt and on propane only) in the van.

The truck has a turbo 400 trans i found out this evening by identifying the pan, now should i swap the th400 into the van or keep the 700r4?

Obviosly the main plan is to jam the engine in there (which is simple) but my secondary plan is to keep it on propane and do a twin turbo setup using 2 turbos from a 6.5L TD engine.

Any idea which trans would hold up better?

Ok while your thinking about that... i had a sheer nasty thought earlier.

By trade i'm a self employed carpet cleaner, we recently got a newer cleaning unit and I have my old Sutorbilt blower sitting here doing nothing useful... (onto my thought)... IF[/] the blower can produce 100-150 cfm per rotation it would make a perfect supercharger and be double V-belt driven off the crank (haven't figured out how yet) all i need to find is a blowthrough gas carb if i switch it back to gas or figure out how to modify the existing propane carb to take the blowthrough pressure.

Check this thing out:

Just a couple things...

1, pic needs to be resized, please/thanks 800x600
2, If someone takes the time to try to help you as TheChopFather did by posting the mount plans, then at least acknowledge his assistance.
3, How can you expect help when you keep changin your projects?
4,What happened to the Lada? see what I mean.

Don't take these points the wrong way,do as many projects as you like, but sooner or later you will not get any help, because forum members will get frustrated and say why bother spending my time trying to help him he'll change his plans by tomorrow.

1. Sorry about the pic size, i forgot to resize it...fixed now. #-o
2. Thanks to TheChopFather for posting those plans. :prayer:
3. I'm not really changing my plans just vans, from 93 to 91. My wife is worried about the power of a v8 when she's driving the van and hauling kids. Unlike me, she finds drivig stressful as it is... i find it fun :muhaha:
4. Lada's turned out to be WAY too expensive around here.. the cheapest one I could find was $2400.
5. I value and appreciate every members opinions and help at all times.

I think the blower will work but I'm having a hard time finding info on it. I know that as a carpet cleaning setup it pulled 20" of mercury on the gauge which should equal about 60psi output max. Now obviosly i will have to wastegate it and use a large pulley to take that down to 10 or 12 psi.

I figured that I paid $200 for the truck so if i blow the motor up...whatever \:D/
