Ball joint bolts too large

Post by gunther »

So I decided to do some front end work on the new van and got a rebuild kit from Anderson Restoration out of SLC. The price was right (I know it seems dumb but I just want to get some miles on the van before I drop any serious dough on upgrade components) and everything out of the box seems pretty decent quality wise. I have run into a problem now that I’ve knocked the upper ball joint off and can see that the bolts that came with the new stuff are wayyy too big. I’m assuming that this won’t work because if I were to re-drill it would leave a pretty small amount material left on the control arm. Should I just try and send the ball joints back for a partial refund? What other ones should I get instead?

Did you order the correct part? Was it supposed to fit an Astro? If so, then Anderson should send you the correct hardware.
