Hi,,

I plan to install new ball joints ( heck , new control arms with ball joints) and all new Moog bushing and tie rod ends while doing torsion bar install.

I should also put new timing chain gasket to stop the slow motor oil drip which stills to my skid plate and smells when it burns off.

2. Sway bar dis connect photo concept attached too.

Hi MMJ,

Yes, I made the prototype disconnect rods from uni strut clevis ends PN P1973 and eye to eye rods from old 4x4 Ford Ranger sway bar parts from Pic n pull. Unfortunately, the whole assembly is about 21 mm too long to fit my 2003 AWD Astro.
I sent the design idea to Brian at Sway Away to see if he could improve the design and maybe manufacture kits for sale to us Astro off readers.

It's a little amazing that they are still available, but really good to know.

Hello,

Today I received the Sway Away Astro AWD front torsion bars .
Excellent quality kit!
These are 10 to 15 % firmer than OEM bars.
Also, they have 47 splines on the keyed end for fine adjustment of ride height.

I will install soon.

Hello and Happy Holidays to all! Merry Christmas too,

I spoke on phone today with Brian at Sway Away . He has a new supply of the Astro torsion bars for al years of the Astro /Safari AWD vehicles.

I am very pleased with my set on my 2003 Chevy Astro np231C 4x4 with 2 inch lift and 4.10 axles and rear tru trac.

Installing the Sway Away torsion bars provided the extra spring rate so I installed from winch and heavy grille guard.

Yes, Brian has also re-designed the torsion bars so that the hole in cross member does not need to be enlarged.

Great Product.
