Hello all new to the forum. Picked up a1981 GMC RallySTX with a camper high top. Gutted the mouldy shag to prepare for a camper re do! Went out to start the Van yesterday and heard a pop from under the dash but it didn’t sound like it came from the fuse panel. Now I have nothing when I turn the key. No dash lights no warning buzzers no ignition. Fuses all look ok. Is there a main fuse up under the dash by the dash ignition? Help.

No power to dash or ignition.

Welcome to the forum Psy
Main fuses should be in the under-hood fuse block.
I would check for voltage on the under-dash fuses. If there's nothing there you probably blew the ignition switch in the column.

No power to the fuses under the dash. I don’t see any fuses under the hood at all. I think my Van is old enough to use a disable link to the ignition. I’m just having a hard time finding it. Going to have to disassemble the dash to get a better look I guess.

I don't have diagrams for your model unfortunately. Since you plan to do a lot of work and own this thing long term, I strongly recommend you pick up one of these at the part store...
The public library should also have some print and digital resources.
