2008 Express AWD shock replacement question

Post by Valkyrie »

Hi guys, I'm new here and figured you might be able to help me figure out a few shock replacement questions on my 2008 Express AWD 1500.

My van is a work van with 250k and runs like a Swiss clock, but the shocks are worn out and need replacement. I keep it on the road 99% of the time and have no desire to lift it... all I want to do is replace the old shocks with quality shocks and have looked into buying a set of Bilsteins but they only offer rear shocks from what I can see.

Have any of you found any Bilstein shocks that will fit & work on the front & rear of an AWD 1500 Express van? If not, what are my other options?

Thanks :supz:

Welcome to the Forum, Valk...

Seems you have the same issues as the AWD Astro/Safari crowd and the lack of Bilstein choices / representation.
Things seem to have swayed over to the KYB side.
I recently put a pair of KYB Monomaxs on the back of our 2WD.
Have not heard any bad stuff from the guys on either forum concerning KYB.

Looking forward to test driving The Van with "New Shocks".

I wound up buying a set of Monroe Reflex shocks from Rock Auto for $156.

I'm also looking into the feasibility of upgrading my front brake set up and swapping in a pair of front 2019 Silverado 1500 calipers & rotors. More research required before pulling the trigger.

I also like the KYB monotube shocks. And they are often discounted on rockauto.com

Vans like to warp rotors. I bought some NAPA fleet grade brake parts in the fall. (post here: MountainManJoe @ What did you do to/with your van today?)
Wouldn't a Silverado weigh less than your van?
