Re: SixSix Mike n' Jeannie's '92 Astro
I should have filled in the blanks re the Anderson connectors. They offer a broad range of seriously reliable connectors. I used 10G / 40A versions for an electric bicycle project. I had DIY battery packs, all identical, and swapping in a fresh one took seconds.
Regarding the SAE connections: they have to be handiest thing going for solar and remote use. The issue I always eventually have is they can get sloppy especially if they get plugged and un-plugged a lot. Luckily, re-"crimping" them for a good connection is way easy.
sixsix wanted to talk about connectors, just because, knowing there's a million gazillion different ones
We covered the two most common pretty quickly

I've had this charger at least 5 years. The connector is still tight. Maybe even too tight it's a bit of a struggle. I don't use it a great deal though. Usually just when I'm going away.

Yeah... I thought it looked like a Towmotor or liftruck battery terminal used w/ hundreds of amps.
( I tell ya', the man is just chock full of merriment - LOL )
At first I thought a small protected wired socket, that would complete the "Minder's Circuit".
Maybe in a somewhat protected, unseen spot near the Battery area.
Or just keep things as they are... hood open, but now with Battery connected and the "Minder" on.

This SAE item could be concealed somewhere in the grill area, and accept various charging sources. It could also double as an auxiliary outlet.sixsix wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 8:06 am Yeah... I thought it looked like a Towmotor or liftruck battery terminal used w/ hundreds of amps.

Of course, with a "hood closed" option, one must take care to unplug before driving off
