Post by 91AWDAstro »

Ordered new rims and tires this week. Got a call today they're in so I need to make a decision on black wall or raised white letter showing. What do you guys think.

Raised White Letters !!!!!
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

Ulp, my new rear tires have raised white letters! Truth be told, I like them--I guess because it reminds me of the late 60s muscle car scene.

IMO, it kinda depends on the color of your ride. If it's a light color go with blackwalls. If it's dark, then a contrast with white whatever on the tires is ok. JMO

I'm a raised white letter guy (on 4x4s and trucks), but it depends if the name is worthy....

I've got Pro Comp A/Ts on my truck with white letters showing.

I had Scorpion A/Ts on the van and the white letters were showing.

The previous Goodyear A/Ts were mounted letters in....

The current Wal Mart A/Ts are definately white letters in!

My new Pro-Comp Mud T/As for the van will be white letter out!

Well, got back from the tire store today. The orginal rims the salesman sold me wouldn't not work on the van so they got me someting different. Not sure how much I like them, need some opions here. Also I think I'm going to have them swaped to raised white letters out. Here again a little feedback.

Man what a difference in ride, got luv those Michelins.

I think black sidewalls work with that van. Rims wouldn't have been my 1st choice but they look good!! Bottom line is if you like them. I emagine those are 7" wide instead of the 6.5 stockers, that alone makes a handeling difference, wish GM would have put 7s from the factory.

Well I'll be posting another pic in a few days. I'm crazy with the look and I verified the rims are polished not clear coated. I don't want to deal with the up keep. The first rims I chose were clear coated. Talked to the manager and were going to look at what we can get in a painted or coated rim.

These were what I was going to put on it.

OK too late to edit my orginal response, I ment to say "I'm not crazy about the look". It think raised letters would offset the amount of bright silver a little. I think overall it's too much bright silver for my liking. It would be ok if there was a lot of chrome elswhere on the van. It may be just because I'm not used to it either.
