I regret to inform you that I don't recall ever examining the transmission fluid. And I can say for certain that I've never changed it.
So when I went to check it the other day, it was stuck. I did unlock it. I'm afraid forcing it out may leave some unwanted debris that could cause serious problems. I thought about removing the pan, forcing the dipstick out, scrubbing the dipstick tube with some kind of engine brush, then use some of the old fluid to flush the tube several times.
If I did this, would the fluid come straight out, or would it have to go through the transmission first. Should I just replace the dipstick and tube without removing the old one?
After I get through this, I pledge to check the transmission fluid as every time I change the oil (even though that's not totally necessary). It will insure I check it regularly.

Re: Stuck Tranny Dipstick
Twist the dipstick until it frees itself. Mine sticks as well and I check a couple times a year.
