adjustment or spacing for gear changes

is there any adjustment for transmission, computer that controls it that would allow you to space the shifting closer or farther apart.

if the transmission is controlled by computer, you would think there would be someway to adjust it, like what is done to vac advance on motor....

or what was done to older motors..

No adjustments on the gear ratio's in the transmissions. They are a fixed ratio. What you can change is at what RPM they shift at as well as the firmness of the shifting.

that probably won't do much for increased mileage, but who knows.....

No help for increased mileage. In reality you will probably lose mileage because the tranny shifts so much better that you tend to hammer it up through the gears more!
