QUICK TIP – That rear seat belt is going to hurt someone!

Post by LaGrasta »

With both bench seats removed, the passenger side seat belt that retracts and mounts from the ceiling swings about cracking anything within it's distance with every turn, stop, and gas peddle stomp. YIKES!
I removed it's plastic cover from the ceiling panel and using my Dremal made two slits on either side. I then installed a strip of Velcro. Now when the seat belt is not attached to the bench seat, I merely fold it up to the ceiling retractor, wrap the Velcro strip around it and it safely stays out of the way.

I just stick both the belt's latches in the compartment behind the slider and close the lid. Stays put with spirited driving.

I sliced all my seat belts in the rear and let the excess get sucked up into the spring mechanism...Nothing flopping around now....Not a good option for most but I rarely if ever even have rear passengers...

I did the same thing. rolled it up nice and neat, then zip-tied (wire tie) it up. Works great.

me too.

I was surprised they didn't have something for that from factory. My old burb had a clip on either side of the wheel well thst you locked the belt clip into when you took the third row out.

Good idea with the velcro. Velcro is great stuff.
