I see these repair kits advertised on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FUEL-PUM ... enameZWD1V
Has anyone tried these rather than a complete new pump? If so, what results?
The cheapest I can find a pump mu1375 for 2000 Chevy Astro is at a place called rockauto.com
http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/mfr,ACDEL ... uel%2BPump
for $260.89
Has anyone found it cheaper elsewhere?
Thks,
Dwight
PS I see there is an assembly part#mu1380 which seem to be similar but is "w/ROBUST FUEL SYS SENDER(K53)" but I believe the mu1375 has a sending unit for fuel level. Anyone know the difference or use one versus the other?
Anyone tried fuel pump repair kit rather than complete pump?

Grumpy is running thanks to one of those cheapo rebuild kits.
Given a quick search http://www.RockAuto.com is the cheapest I've found too. I've bought lots of parts from RockAuto, usually have my parts within 3 days. Very happy with them.

How difficult was it to get the old pump out of the holder & put the new one in???
I just ordered a pump kit to give it a try!

It's a bit fiddly, but if you take your time it's not too bad.AstroManiac wrote:How difficult was it to get the old pump out of the holder & put the new one in???

Re: Anyone tried fuel pump repair kit rather than complete pump?
I bought a "fuel pump repair kit" off Ebay for the Astro for $25.00 + 6.50 ship = $31.50. The name of the place wasn't "Global Auto", so I was a bit concerned, until it arrived... it was from Global Auto!!!
Now I need to find an inexpensive ICM "ignition control module" & go big installing everything!!!

Global Auto had so many complaints, they "opened" another name site. They screwed me, they'll screw you.
Beware the owners name, Kevin Simmons, often signed as K. Simmons.
