side sliding door needs some help
side sliding door needs some help
To open the door I pull the latch and then, with my left index finger I have to reach other to the left end of the door and pull it out a little to get the door slide. Which part needs to be adjusted/replaced/repaired?

Spray some spray grease in the latch mechanism at the rear of the door. It's dry -- BONE DRY.

Try a little WD40 to loosen things up. The WD40 will wash out some of the crud that is making it stick. Then spray it with some grease. That rear latch is spring loaded. The the rear of the slider should pop open when you pull on the handle.

I had the same issue, I sprayed the crap out of latch mechanism with PB blaster and went back a couple days later and greased it.

Yes cheap....cheap...cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap...just call me chicken little
I bought some liquid wrench and doused the latch...it is working much better now.
I will douse it again tomorrow...and then put some grease on it.
I have noticed that when I close the sliding door I cannot get it started by pulling the latch from the outside but must reach inside and pull it. Is that the way it is designed?

Re: side sliding door needs some help
No, it's not normal. The lower latch is activated by a cable. I think the cable stretches a little over time causing that problem. My '96 Safari did the same thing. I cured the problem buy adding a small spacer (flat washer) between the swaged end of the cable and the latch.
